Breakroom Items to consider

Does your employee breakroom meet your needs?

First and foremost, an employee break room should be functional, practical, and relaxing. However, this does not mean it has to appear institutional. Ideally, the space should be comfortable and inviting, as it serves as a place for employees to take well-deserved breaks.

There are many elements that need to be given consideration in an employee breakroom.

Appliances: Food storage and food heating are top priority. Consider products that have long-life and require low maintenance. Sure, a top notch energy efficient refrigerator will be needed, microwave ovens will need to be added, but have you ever considered the Smart shelf oven by HotLogic? One Smartshelf oven can take the place of 4 or more microwaves!

Cabinetry: Select cabinet doors and drawers that can take the punishment of repeated opening and closings. Select cabinets with solid wood frames, closed backs, sturdy drawers, and drawer fronts. Go for the well-built option that will hide clutter. Nobody wants to see the accumulated coffee mugs, ketchup packets, and takeout menus.

Countertops: We are a fan of Quartz countertops. Quartz is durable and offers a almost infinite color palate and almost unlimited amounts of patterns and finishes. They are nonporous, non-toxic, scratch resistant, and hygienic. They don’t host bacteria, mold, or mildew. They only require soap and water for cleaning.

Backsplash: Choose ceramic, porcelain or glass. Choose patterns and colors that liven and brighten the area.

Faucet: Choose the faucet that will give you the best functionality for the area. Do you need a low ark or high ark? Do you want to make it easy to wash coffee mugs?

Sink: After the appropriate faucet is selected then you can pick a sink. Keep in mind does your faucet require 2 or 3 holes? Did you select a pull-down, pull-out, or side spray faucet.
